M51, the Whirlpool Galaxy, framed by real plane trails on approach to Chicago O'Hare. The aircraft were recorded live during the imaging sessions and restored to their exact paths across the field. Light in this image traveled anywhere from 5,000 feet to 125 million light-years to land on one rooftop sensor.
